One If is a well-written science fiction by Carol B. Carol B. Allen creates a work pulsing with drama, and I enjoyed the sparkling dialogue. The author uses traditional devices to create scenes with vivid descriptions. I enjoyed the characters, especially Parker, whose curiosity and scientific mind is a moral compass, and Henley, whose skepticism and defiance create the tension and realism in the story. Edison’s earnestness complements the trio’s collective bravery. The setting—a floating, cloud-filled planet with majestic structures and mystical landscapes—creates a surreal, otherworldly atmosphere that is both beautiful and foreboding. The book employs vivid visual techniques—floating scenes, flying, and dynamic lighting—to evoke this other dimension vividly. The dialogue is sharp and witty, and I loved how the author uses it to explore the emotional depth of the characters. I was fascinated by the author’s ability to blend science fiction with moral inquiry, the skillful use of visual and auditory cues, and the cinematic storytelling that leaves you feeling like you’ve just watched an enthralling science fiction movie when you turn the last page.
